Navigation Menus

Horizontal Menus

To change the links in the navigation menus, click the 'Variables' button from the Yahoo! store editor buttons. Find the appropriate property according to which menu you want to change (see below). The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs.

  • Top-nav-ids - Blue menu directly below logo.
  • Bottom-nav-ids - Menu at the top of the footer.

Left Navigation

The left navigation is 3 tiers. Think of this a tree starting with the index page. The first tier is the children of the index page. The second tier is the children of the first tier pages. The third tier is the children of the second tier pages.

Headings

The headings are the first tier. To add/remove of change which pages are in the first tier, go to the home page and click 'edit'. Find the 'contents' property. The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs.

2nd Tier

2nd Tier pages (sub-categories) are automatically shown. For example, 'Resources' is one of the 1st tier links. All of it's children (Color Charts, Installation Instructions, etc.) are automatically shown. To change what is shown, go to the 1st tier page. Click 'edit' and find the 'contents' property. The links in the menu are listed by ID with a single space between each ID. To remove a link, delete the ID of the desire page from the property. To add a link, type the ID of the page you want to add. Note that links will appear in the exact order that you enter the IDs.

3rd Tier

3rd Tier pages (sub-sub-categories) are NOT automatically shown. To show a 3rd tier, go to the 2nd tier page (Example: Stair Treads & Parts). Click 'edit' and then click the 'New Property' button. Add a new property called 'Left-nav-expand' and choose Yes/No as the type. Set it to 'Yes' to show the 3rd tier (it's children, which you can edit in the 'contents' field). Setting the 'Left-nav-expand' property on a page to 'No' will hide the 3rd tier.

By default, the 'name' property is used when displaying the name of a page on a navigation menu.
